Job Summary:

In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the Financial Case Manager is responsible for assisting secretaries and the Accounts Receivable Coordinator in determining the eligibility and enrollment of all FLACRA clients for assuredness.

Must Have Qualifications:

• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent

• Valid NYS Drivers’ License

• Effective communication abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

  Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or higher education

• Medical office experience

• Two years of clerical or administrative experience

Job Requirements:

Duties:

• Review all FLACRA clients for insurance status and eligibility and for those eligible, notify the primary therapist.

• Meet with the therapist and client to discuss eligibility options and requirements.

• Assist the eligible clients in gathering information necessary to apply for insurance up to and including transportation to/from the appropriate Department of Social Services offices.

• Communicate to the supervisor and appropriate primary therapist any issues obstructing clients from gaining insurance.

• Provide notification and documentation to the appropriate program unit of the outcome for obtaining insurance.

• Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.

• Adhere to the agency’s Confidentiality Policy, HIPPA and applicable policy and procedures in all matters.

• Develop collaborative relationships with Department of Social Services and other agencies.

• Directly communicate suggestions, concerns and/or complaints to supervisor in a timely manner.

• Perform other duties and functions as directed.

Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and multiple distributors and agencies.

• Working knowledge of AOD issues.

• Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving and time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis.

• Knowledge of insurance eligibility requirements through the Department of Social Services.
