Description
Robert Half is looking for a Senior or Intermediate-level Systems Network Engineer in Kansas City. This role would be onsite 5 days a week and vital to the team, with the primary function being to design, implement, upgrade, and troubleshoot the network infrastructure. The job will also entail maintaining a high level of network performance and security in a professional, executive-level environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement network systems in line with our business needs
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages, working to minimize downtime
• Use Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for routing and making decisions in the network
• Utilize Cisco Technologies, including Cisco ASA and Cisco Routers, in a daily operation
• Implement and maintain firewall technologies to ensure the security of our network
• Use Configuration Management tools to automate tasks and improve efficiency
• Work with Microsoft Azure and Azure Active Directory for cloud-based solutions
• Use system administration skills to maintain network and system performance
• Implement patches as necessary to fix vulnerabilities and bugs
• Utilize CrowdStrike for endpoint security within the network.
Requirements
• Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in the field of Network Engineering
• Create infrastructure – help with upgrades on hardware. Hardware/software refresh
• Will keep infrastructure up and running, safe and secure. Will work with security team to coordinate patching, etc
• Windows, visualization, cisco environment – routers, switches, vm shop
• Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies is required
• Must have knowledge of Computer Hardware and Configuration Management
• Experience with Design, Eigrp, and Firewall Technologies is essential
• Certifications that are a preferred, but not required: Cisco CCNP and MCSE certifications
• Experience with Comptia, Comptia Network+, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Microsoft Azure is needed
• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, System Administration, and Microsoft Office 365 is necessary
• Experience with Patching, Network Architecture, Azure DevOps, and CrowdStrike is a plus
• Candidates must have a strong understanding of network engineering principles and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team is necessary
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you will interact with C-suite and clients
• Candidates must be able to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues is required
• Must stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
