GENERAL SUMMARY

The purpose of this job is to assist with County bank account reconciliations and daily/monthly investment reconciliations. This role involves attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of daily bank account and investment records. Additionally, the Treasury Specialist supports the tax adjustment process and delivers exceptional customer service, embodying the County's commitment to financial integrity and community support. This position also serves as a critical backup to the Assistant Treasurer, ensuring continuity and resilience within the Treasury operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all county bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a prompt manner.
  • Conduct daily or weekly reconciliations of investment accounts, verifying transactions and balances to maintain the integrity of the county's investment portfolio.
  • Assist the Tax Adjustment Specialist in processing adjustments and refunds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with county policies and regulations.
  • Provide customer service, answering inquiries and resolving issues related to treasury services with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Act as a reliable backup for the Assistant Treasurer, capable of stepping in to support or lead treasury operations as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting treasury operations. Assist in the preparation of reports and compliance documentation as required.
  • Work collaboratively with team members across the Treasury and Finance departments to support broader financial management goals and initiatives.
  • Perform related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • At least two years of relevant college-level course work or an associate degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of related work experience, such as basic accounting, customer service, computer skills, treasury, banking, or finance with strong preference for experience in government or public sector finance.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
