Description:
Independent working – running reports that come from payroll after processing (payroll from previous month) – translate onto union reports
Make payments to unions
Investigative work with reports – figures out issues – looking into payroll data
Communicating with unions and fund administrators
Using SAP
The Union Payroll Specialist is responsible to remit union payments, correspond with unions and reconcile general ledger accounts for the US and Canada.
Prepare union benefit payments accurately while maintaining strict deadlines
Research and process trust fund discrepancy correspondence in a timely manner
Reconcile union benefit general ledger accounts
Maintain union benefit folders and remittance forms
Manage assigned cases in Service Now
Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external departments
Collaborate with co-workers, internal and external company departments to promote continuous improvement
Reliable and consistent attendance
Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement
Perform other job-related tasks as needed or assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications:
-Payroll experience preferred
-Analytical mindset (not always a straight forward answer)
-Transactional heavy role but a lot of investigation and research that goes into the day to day
-Analyzing data, reconciling experience
-Excel test needed
-Problem solving experience/ analytical experience
-Payroll tax experience is nth
-Union experience is nice to have
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP experience
Union contract and/or payroll experience
Analytical, willing to dig into issues
Detail-oriented
Self-started, motivated
Not always a cut and dry answer all the time – must be okay with that
Payroll experience isn’t a must have but it would be a plus, union experience is a huge plus
Good communication
Take initiative
French speaking would be a huge plus – will be working with Canadian groups
