Overview:

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Temp – Atelier Coordinator to join the Runway Team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. Marc Jacobs International is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) fashion division and operates in the wholesale and direct to consumer retail markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepare trim packages according to specifications, ensuring all necessary materials are included.

  • Accurately scan and cut patterns using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Update patterns on the hard drive for easy access and organization, maintaining version control.

  • Prepare cut ticket packages for sewers and factories, ensuring completeness and accuracy to facilitate smooth production processes.

  • Shorten zippers for trim packages as needed, following established guidelines.

  • Set up thread and sewing trials to test production processes, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Create and maintain charts for production progress tracking, providing visibility into project milestones and deadlines.

  • Coordinate ordering and set up of meals for the team, ensuring timely delivery and meeting dietary preferences or restrictions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Background in Fashion Design is preferred

  • Preference for candidates with experience in sample rooms and design ateliers is preferred

  • Knowledge of sewing construction and pattern making

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and understand tight deadlines.

    SALARY & BENEFITS/WHAT WE OFFER: 

    The compensation for this position ranges from $19-$20  (hourly). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. MJ employees also receive discounts on MJ products throughout the year.
