We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to join our team. As an Intellectual Property Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team in all aspects of intellectual property law. This is a full-time, hybrid position (based in our office a few days a week, work-from-home the rest). Main functions of the position include (but are not limited to): Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information; Handles correspondence from the clients, corresponds with clients regarding the status of applications, and develops and maintains good client relationships; Understands patent prosecution procedures and has knowledge of the U.S. and foreign Patent Office rules; Conducts searches and researches prior art; Handles IDSes; Assists Attorneys in drafting and reviewing patent and trademark applications for filing; Reviews communications from patent offices and works with internal Attorneys to prepare drafts of responses; Calculates estimates of filing costs; Handles and monitors the patent and trademark docket, and keeps it up-to-date in the internal document management system (ProLaw); Works closely with attorneys, other paralegals, central docketing, and other firm staff; Meets billing goals; BENEFITS: All HSML full-time employees are eligible for our complete employee benefits package which includes 401(k), medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Plan, reimbursed parking, paid time off, and holiday pay.
