Job Opening: Purchasing Manager

Manpower is seeking qualified professionals for a direct hire Purchasing Manager role working for a distribution company located in Hickory, NC.

Manages all purchasing and inventory activities; receives orders and grants approval for purchases of goods and/or services; and analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supplies to find ways to reduce costs and improve quality.

• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors including, negotiations with vendors on pricing, payment terms, and distributor contract between Company and the vendor; plus regularly meet with vendor representatives to assess current performance jointly to develop strategies for improvement

• Manage and maintain all distribution contracts, rebate, MDF contracts, and other agreements with our manufacturers

• Minimize obsolete, slow-moving and excess inventory via various methods including obtaining credits/stock rotation authorizations from vendors, discounting, liquidation and other means

• Work with sales and marketing to ensure products available for sale are those needed to meet market demand and are consistently stocked

• Approve pending purchase orders according to authority matrix-allowed levels or for new vendors

• Maintain and manage the MRP and the min/max ordering system

• Direct, measure and analyze all Purchasing and Inventory activities including supervising administration of weekly cycle count and analyzing results of cycle count adjustments
