Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Specialist
to join our team to support employees in Colorado and in the Renewables
Division in other states Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of
individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our
clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The primary focus will be providing Human Resources support to company
employees in Colorado and to employees of the Renewables Division in other
states.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job
applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to
understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and
non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This
may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional
licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Conducts new hire orientation.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource
programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave;
disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent
management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health
and safety; and training and development.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings,
terminations, and investigations.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and
regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and
practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and
new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Collaborates with businesses leaders to understand their business objectives
and key operational metrics and develops HR strategies to support those needs.
- Responsibilities include supporting talent management initiatives;
advising managers and employees about their personal growth plans, assisting
managers in preparing performance improvement plans and administering
disciplinary actions
- Facilitates the employee recognition program and provides support and advice
to managers about rewarding and recognizing employees for their service and
other accomplishments.
- Works with Corporate HR team to communicate and implement HR initiatives.
- Assists with integrating new workforces from acquisitions.
- Regularly reviews and ensures employee data is up to date and accurate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team to build and maintain
relationships at multiple levels and across geographic office locations.
- Strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize and negotiate
deadlines with multiple stakeholders
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite -
PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently and clearly
communicate information in writing and verbally.
- Recruiting experience including coordinating with hiring managers,
identifying job requirements and determining qualification criteria for
candidates.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Cooperative attitude with team-oriented disposition.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to utilize judgment and
initiative in HR-related activities
- Strong client-service focus with willingness to adjust approach and
persevere to gain buy-in from key stakeholders and deliver results.
- Flexible working style and willingness to o casionally modify personal
schedule as required to meet project deadlines or client needs.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in Human Resources or a related subject area
- 3 years HR experience, ideally with at least 1 year providing support to
employees working for in engineering and other technical roles.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certificate is a plus
Compensation Range Minimum
USD $50,000.00/Yr.
