DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves coordination and administration of financial aid to students at the college. Supervision is provided to Campus Coordinators of Financial Aid. The incumbent, under the direct supervision of the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs, is responsible for developing consistent college procedures, adherence to Federal and State regulations regarding financial aid, uniform philosophy of financial aid processing and packaging and fiscal operations reporting. Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Directs the Campus Coordinators of Financial Aid. Develops the student aid packaging philosophy, funding levels policies and procedures for the college. Prepares all fiscal operation reports relating to financial aid for students. Provides training of staff on the Datatel system. Coordinates the processing of PELL payment documents. Develops presentations for high school students and non-traditional students regarding student financial aid. Recommends policies, procedures and processes for student tuition deferments. Coordinates the notification to students of financial aid packaging in coordination with admissions decisions. Conducts periodic reviews of the institutions total financial aid process. Recommends future delivery systems of student financial aid.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience of responsible educational administration, including five (5) years of experience in financial aid administration at the collegiate level.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Thorough knowledge of financial aid methods and procedures at the college level; good knowledge of educational procedures and practices at the college level; ability to develop and supervise student services activities, including financial aid functions; ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing; ability to coordinate and direct the work of others; ability to work well with professional, technical, administrative and clerical staff to promote harmonious relationships; good organizational ability; sound professional judgment; courtesy; tact; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
