Job Opening: Purchaser

JOB SUMMARY

We are searching for a Purchaser to assist with the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the purchasing department, production, nventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
• Coordinates with the sales and inventory levels  to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
• Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
• Works with other purchasers to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
• Oversees the stockroom operation and implements processes to achieve efficiencies.
• Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
• Researches the tactical approaches of purchaser to ensure a hands on approach.
• Advises on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
• Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Candidate must possess strong organizational and planning skills along with solid reaseacrhing of materials, excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Will be required to interact with all levels of management using excellent interpersonal skills. Must be proficient with inventory reporting systems, ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft office suite including Excel.

Education:

Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or demonstrated related experience. Must have three years of experience in materials control field and experience in an electronics manufacturing setting is required.

Physical requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer in a manufacturing environment. Periodically must walk and occasionally may lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
