Position Summary and Purpose: We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our team and grow with us! Initial focus will be in the Financial Accounting field. Specifically, the Accounts Receivable area, as we transition to an Enterprise Resource Planning system. There will be opportunities to branch into the Managerial, and Cost Accounting fields as well as Auditing and Tax. This is a great position to gain some amazing experience in multiple accounting disciplines!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review prior day invoicing

  • Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

  • Classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete

  • Analyze and review loan ledger report and maintain running balance spreadsheet

  • Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records

  • Process credit memos and debit memos

  • Invoice all final machine shipments – offset down payments or other funds received prior to machine shipments

  • Preform other customer offsets as directed

  • Maintain customer sales tax exemptions in third party software

  • Review and reconcile credit card payments

  • Work in conjunction with accounts payable team to respond to all inquiries received within a timely manner

  • Serve as backup to accounts receivable team for vacations, sick days, etc.

  • Assist the accounting department with audits

  • Assist in accounts receivable collections as needed

  • Perform month end close duties

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency - Required

  • Any of the following degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting; Bachelor of Science in Accounting; BSBA in Accounting; Or an Associates Degree in Accounting Technology/Technician and Bookkeeping plus 4-6 years relevant experience.

  • Must be able to work under deadlines

  • Strong understanding of receivables processed to assist in achieving days sales outstanding goals
