Job Description Summary

Aero Alliance, a joint-venture owned 50% by General Electric Company and 50% by Baker Hughes, with an estimated revenue of $1.3B and operations across 5 countries. The business has multiple overhaul and repair shops globally and several product lines to serve our customers. At Aero Alliance, our purpose is to deliver improved product, repair and execution, strategy and fulfillment with best-in-class quality, speed, and cost for the Joint Venture Partners and Authorized Service Providers network.

The JV’s purpose is to deliver improved product, repair and execution strategy and fulfillment for the JV partners and Authorized Service Providers. Aero Alliance is a Joint Venture that serves three segments of customers – its two parent companies, Baker Hughes, and GE Power, as well as the Authorized Service Providers (ASP) network.

Houston Service Center (HSC) provides repair, overhaul and testing services of Aeroderivative gas turbine engines and modules. The HSC Operations Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling and execution of work plans that support the site’s production requirements. This is a 2nd Shift role.

Job Description

As an Operations Supervisor your duties will be to:

  • Lead a team of hourly shop operations employees in the execution of (Module and Engine) processes within the Houston Service Center.

  • Manage and plan resource allocation to meet engine and module schedule targets.

  • Establish and implement continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, and cycle times for operations.

  • Hire, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel.

  • Establish and maintain communication tools and structure to ensure team understands and delivers on schedule targets.

  • Devise methods to track, communicate and drive relevant Operations Metrics.

  • Make recommendations to leadership as required.

  • Hold self and team accountable to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) culture, driving a safe workplace and environment.

  • Unyielding commitment to Aero Alliance principles of Compliance and Integrity.

  • Perform any other job duties as assigned by the Cell Leader to support Service Center Operations.

As an Operations Supervisor you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of experience in shop operations preferably in a leadership role OR High School Diploma /GED and minimum 4 years of experience in shop operations, preferably in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in Shop Operations/Production Scheduling/Material Planning.

  • Experience leading teams and delivering results.

  • Ability to interpret documents such as purchase orders, shop routers, engine, and equipment operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Proven success in applying Lean Manufacturing principles and driving process improvements on the shop floor.

  • Strong computer skills – MS Excel, Access, SFM

  • Experience in Gas Turbine Repair Operations; working in a high-paced shop environment.

  • Proven project management expertise.

  • Strong with oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability, collaborate, and resolve problems.
