The Procurement Assistant is responsible for:

  • Review, analysis, and administration of the department's online Request for Information or Quotation (RFX) sourcing events and addenda

  • Assists with the creation of reverse auctions, monitors action during the live event, and assists Purchasing Agent with final summary reports

  • Ensures effective communication between Purchasing Agent and outside parties regarding purchase order changes, invoices, and goods confirmations

  • Maintains a working knowledge of suppliers, departments, and Procurement/System for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting (SIMBA) processes

  • Assists with purchase order invoice quality assurance review, assessment, and auditing process

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for Central Procurement by greeting visitors, answering, and directing calls, as well as providing information and referral services

  • Monitors the departmental inbox and directs/answers inquiries for procurement related issues submitted via ServiceNow

  • Serves as a back-up to the Supplier Management team to include performing a variety of activities including review and approval of new supplier record requests, confirming supplier data provided, and ensuring that suppliers are not duplicated in the database

Minimally requires High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is 100% on site at the at the University Park campus in State College, PA. This opportunity does not offer a remote or hybrid work schedule.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
