Paralegal – Senior Location: Miami, FL Duration: 5 Months Description: The main function of a paralegal is to assist lawyers by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, or preparing legal documents. A typical paralegal is responsible for conducting research to support a legal proceeding, formulate a defense or to initiate legal action. An entry level paralegal typically has an associate degree in paralegal studies and experience working in a legal office. The technical skills, including the knowledge of legal codes and procedures, increase across levels. Education/Experience: Associate degree in paralegal studies or Bachelor degree coupled with a certificate in paralegal studies 7+ years experience required Responsibility level- Exercises moderate independent judgment with direction from supervisor Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required) Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required) Basic knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and the democratic political process (Required) Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (Required) Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleading, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements Prepare affidavits or other documents, maintain document file, and file pleadings with court clerk Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents Investigate facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and to prepare cases This temporary contract analyst position will partner with the various stakeholders throughout Client to support the execution and internal distribution of client-related contracts. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, detailed-oriented and analytical. Role & Responsibilities: Manage execution requests for various client contracts by logging in the request, reviewing it for completeness, ensuring accuracy of information and work with requestors to obtain any necessary additional contract information to complete the execution process. Accurately enter contract execution request data into the system for reporting and tracking purposes. Conduct follow-up activities relative to outstanding issues and/or outstanding documentation, up to and through complete execution process. Prepare, maintain, retrieve, daily status and tracking reports, or documents that may be required to meet relevant policies and procedures. Maintain quality control, data accuracy, and auditing documentation to ensure client-related contracts are executed and distributed accurately and appropriately. Maintain a working knowledge of Client’s contract management standards, programs and goals. Qualifications: Associate degree in paralegal studies or Bachelor degree or 3 years of relevant working experience. Knowledge and understanding of contract management process including execution is a plus. Experience in a legal environment such as a top law firm and/or in-house legal department is a plus. Skills: Ability to follow a process-driven task by managing requests from various stakeholders around the globe. Proven success managing multiple priorities and a high volume of work in an accurate, timely manner. Detail-oriented, well-organized, and independent. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible. Ability to work independently and excellent time management with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet responsibilities and deadlines.
