Currently, we are seeking an Accounting Manager specializing in Accounts Payable and Payroll. 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing accounts payable and payroll functions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and maintain strong vendor relationships. This role will collaborate with internal/external clients to deliver exceptional results within specified deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable and Payroll Management

  • Manage the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.

  • Oversee payroll processing, reconciliation, and reporting for employees in multiple states.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline the accounts payable and payroll process, enhance efficiency, and maintain internal controls.

  • Oversee relationships with vendors, including communication about invoice discrepancies, payment terms negotiation, and resolving issues promptly.

  • Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with other departments, like HR and Purchasing, to address issues and improve cross-functional processes related to accounts payable and payroll.

    Month-End Close, Reporting and Analysis and Compliance

  • Participate in the month-end close process, reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger, and preparing accruals as necessary.

  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, such as aging reports, cash flow projections, and budget variance analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax compliance and quarterly and annual reporting requirements (i.e. 941, W-2, etc.) .

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing documentation and support as needed.

    Leadership and Development

  • Provide leadership and mentorship, including training, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.

    Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Finance, Business Administration or equivalent work-related experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant accounting experience in a supervisory role

  • Advanced knowledge of multi-state payroll and basic knowledge of visa tax withholding requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Advanced proficiency in end-to-end accounting processes

  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating a team to achieve goals.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in accounts payable processes and procedures.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

    As a firm, we are committed to pay practices that are fair, competitive, and reflect internal pay equity. At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position in Seattle is between $100,000 and $115,000 annually.  Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors.
