BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Digital Merchandising Specialist is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience on MSCDirect.com through partnership, analysis, and recommendations. As a result, the position will be responsible for identifying and reporting website issues. The Associate Digital Merchandising Specialist will also be collaborating directly with the category, marketing, and product teams to maintain a seamless customer experience from acquisition to conversion.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Recommend merchandising activities to create a compelling consumer experience and to effectively present product stories in an integrated manner across ecommerce all touch points (marketing, site, email).

  • Manage the website product, promotional and release calendar.

  • Recommend A/B tests.

  • Analyzes and provides feedback for on-site promotions.

  • Utilize customer feedback sources to make informed, customer-centric decisions.

  • Partners with key stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of merchandising related content.

  • Continually spot check the site for errors; spelling, pricing, images, content, etc.

  • Administrative functions required to manage the digital area.

  • Performs competitor and industry analysis.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing or Business Administration; related experience in lieu of education may be considered.

  • One-year related industry experience preferred.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with email, internet browsers and operating system, such as Windows, Mac OS and Chromium OS are required.

  • Excels in team-environments and in building and developing strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Results oriented, a sense of urgency, and the ability to prioritize.

  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, follow through and adherence to deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of explaining simple procedures, written and verbal, required.

  • Strong data entry skills.

  • Excellent time management skills required.

  • Discipline and the ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Ability and willingness to learn systems such as Full Story, Jira, Confluence and the MSC website required.

  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office is required. (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • General knowledge of the industrial supply industry desired.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required.

  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).
