A Typical Day

The Legal Assistant will work on legal and regulatory relations projects for departments within Legal-Mortgage Operations. As the Legal Assistant , you will collaborate with first and second line compliance teams and business units to gather and compile relevant data, records, policies, procedures, and other materials required.

The Legal Assistant will:

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, interviews, and other interactions between regulatory examiners and appropriate personnel within the organization, ensuring appropriate meetings and interviews are scheduled and take place

  • Develop and revise defense litigation reporting for various internal business units and external parties

  • Discover responses on complex defense litigation matters, employment-related arbitrations and class actions

  • Research and review consumer complaints and responses

  • Assist with filings associated with corporate governance and executive compensation issues, including stock reports (Forms 3 ,4, 5), and other SEC related filings

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

What You’ll Bring

  • Paralegal Certificate desired

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

  • Previous experience with regulatory compliance, financial services, or law firms is a plus

  • User role experience with the Nationwide Multi-state Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) preferred

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

  • Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role

  • Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role

  • Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
