This role focuses on creating precise bridge and structure plan sheets using advanced computer-aided drafting (CAD) software for construction projects. Responsibilities Produce bridge plan sheets and repair details using CADD software for bridges and structures of intermediate complexity. Develop complete structural detail plans using AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroGDS or MicroStation CONNECT for complex structures. Collaborate with Design Engineers to determine required drawings, plan sheet numbers, and timeframes for structural detailing. Review shop plans and address construction phase inquiries. Prepare project documentation, geometric calculations, and material quantities for bridge projects. Assist in creating reports, manuals, and documentation for bridges and special structures. Conduct site visits for field measurements and assist in scoping repair projects. Update inspection file drawings based on inspector's notes and archive project CAD files. Detail preliminary and conceptual bridge plans, incorporating field data and engineer-supplied information. Train new and existing detailers and designers on MicroGDS and MicroStation CONNECT applications. Qualifications Associate of Arts Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Drafting Technology, Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, or a related field OR five (5) years of experience developing and drafting engineering drawings using CADD software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or MicroGDS. Minimum of one (2) year of experience as a structural, roadway, or civil engineering detailer with production-level proficiency in CADD software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel programs. Demonstrated ability to produce structural drawings independently using MicroStation or MicroGDS software based on Design Engineer's input with minimal oversight. The pay range for this Washington position is $33.66 - $43.27 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
