Job Opening: Cost Accountant

JOB TITLE: COST ACCOUNTANT REPORTS TO: ACCOUNTING MANAGER

DUTIES: Perform cost and inventory accounting activities including monthly closings, maintenance of standard costs. Physical inventory/ cycle count programs including inventory valuation and obsolescence reviews. Support quarterly and annual audits for bank and financial auditors. Weekly audits of finished goods and subassembly material still in inventory. Review all laminating job bags and ensure all material is allocated.
Make sure that all material cost gets issued and moves correctly through the production process/WIP. Review and close all manufacturing jobs after completed production. Lead weekly waste meeting. regarding production and implementation of waste reduction strategy Supervise and calculate waste incentive plan. Audit all incoming shipments of raw material and match purchase order backup. Enter all Purchase order related payable invoices. Remove value of RTV material going back to the vendor. Organize and file all job bags and sheeting paperwork. Responsible for all inventory adjustments. Calculate Total COGS Balance for each month.. Ensuring all cost are consumed in the same month as revenue. Maintain WIP value for Trial Balance. Responsible for balancing inventory stock status to Trial balance for month end close. Submit Month end gross profit report. Miscellaneous accounting projects as assigned. Case paper customer service rep Handles customer supplied material for: Westrock, Sonoco, and SCI games Daily Shipping Manifest Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/GP a plus Public Company experience a plus
