General Summary

West Texas A&M University seeks a visionary digital marketing professional to partner with the Communication and Marketing team and lead the university toward achievement of its strategic digital marketing goals.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for University Branding & Chief Marketing Officer, the Director for University Digital Marketing supports the University in the areas of branding, advertising, enrollment management/admission marketing, outreach, and other areas related to WT’s image and influence among its local, national, and international audiences and constituents. In this effort, the Director of University Digital Marketing sets strategy for and develops digital marketing communication campaigns and serves as a collaborator and resource for digital marketing efforts of colleges, units, and divisions across campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the internal and external digital communication plan and systems for the University and identifies trends and insights for digital marketing.

  • Create long-range digital marketing initiatives to promote the brand of WT, as well establish goals and performance indicators for effective digital University’s brand management

  • Projects digital marketing strategy for the University and assists in developing campaigns for units and divisions across the campus.

  • Establishes effective and cooperative relationships with administrators, unit/division heads, and representatives groups who intersect with University’s digital marketing initiatives.

  • Oversees creation of content for digital marketing initiatives, including social media, online advertising, and data analysis.

  • Manages a team of digital marketing professionals.

  • Defines and monitors digital content and messaging for the University to ensure goals are benchmarked and achieved.

  • Strategizes and coordinates digital content with the University Web Director and helps with search engine optimization.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or other applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8 years of related experience; 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Proven ability to understand, plan, and implement complex digital marketing strategies across a complex organization for multiple stakeholders; Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and expertise in digital campaigns; Understanding of return on investment in digital marketing through tools associated with technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • 2 years of Salesforce and/or Marketing Cloud experience

  • Salesforce certification

  • Experience in digital marketing in higher education; Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience with higher education enrollment management/admissions framework and demonstrated proficiency in managing configuration activities, data analysis, and performance improvement implementations.
