Job Description

Responsibilities:

Leads payroll tax audit collaboration with regional Corporate Tax.

Coordinates and review data collection with regional Payroll Operations and/or Payroll Vendor for any tax related audits or notices.

Handles the tax notices activity.

Updates audit tracker with tax audit and tax notice details

Coordinates third party resources as needed, i.e. PWC, for country specific legislative requirements.

Participates in Tax Audit Reviews with Corporate Tax.

Assists Corporate Tax in preparing audit payment request templates summarizing audit results and submission through the approval process.

Provides quarterly updates to Manager on payroll tax activity.

Coordinates with Payroll Operations to complete remediation of current audit finding; enhance process controls, and operational issues.

Remains current with payroll tax regulatory changes, identifies issues/ implications impacting payroll tax, notify payroll operations of any changes in payroll tax laws.

Provides quarterly and annual tax legislation updates to Oracle Payroll, Corporate Tax and GCO.

Handles tax agency registration for new countries; acquisitions.

Creates and maintain country payroll tax summary database.

Manages year begin and year end processes; handles annual checklist to document review of necessary payroll tax requirement changes.

Responsible for monitoring of the accurate and timely filing and payment of statutory payroll withholding taxes to relevant government authorities.

Participates in development of reconciliation procedures to ensure payments of tax liabilities and tax filing are reconciled before submission.

Handles the Legislative changes as per the Legislative Updates internal process.

Is proactive, contributes ideas in order to improve team’s performance.

Effectively collect, summarize and communicate facts: efficiently and timely obtain all relevant facts for a situation; articulately and concisely communicate facts to collaborators; develop and communicate proposed solutions to team members.

Ensures the quality standards are met.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with internal or external customers & key collaborators including methodology for clear and articulate communication (e.g. HR, Legal, Global Corporate Controllers, external vendors).

Understands and acknowledges the department policies and procedures.

Evaluates the need for change in regards to payroll tax processes based on input received from Ops Team.

Ensures a good communication with higher management regarding specific issues of the department’s activities.

Participates in internal and cross functional projects; collaborates with cross-functional teams in developing solutions that are in the best interest of Oracle.

Undertakes other tasks attributed by the direct manager in line with the departmental guidelines.

The Tax Specialist should aim to and make sure that the problems are solved within the time frame agreed by the department.

Anticipates the impact of an action or idea on others, to address possible resistance to such actions/ideas.

Offers support to new employees during their on-boarding and integration into the team.

Provides quality standards in both internal and external interactions with customers and in the implementation of the internal tax payroll policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Skills /Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Taxation, Payroll, Oracle applications knowledge experience will represent a plus.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and calmly.

  • Organized, ability to meet deadlines in an orderly manner and strong detail orientation.

  • Must have good presentation skills and able to manage conference calls in a professional manner.

  • Flexibility in work schedule, including availability during early mornings and evenings.

  • Ability to work remotely across multiple countries using existing technologies and understand cultural differences.

  • Good negotiation skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in the same time and to meet strict deadlines.

  • Ability to understand of what and when to involve, inform, consult or communicate to key collaborators or management.

Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant work experience required.

  • 2-4 years of total work experience is preferred.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

  • University degree preferable Finance preferred

US: Hiring Range: from $27.02 to $54.13 per hour; from $56,200 to $112,600 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
