Coordinates all activities related to the procurement of parts, materials, and supplies, to support the efficient operation of the company.

§ Coordinates all activities related to procurement of material beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.

§ Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects, or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, confirms delivery, and maintains necessary records.

§ Monitors minimum/maximum levels of inventory and supplies to assure optimum on hand quantities to support repair, and new business needs.

§ Communicates with shop, engineering, accounting, inspection, shipping/receiving, finance and customer service personnel.

§ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

§ Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant years of successful experience at a professional level Purchasing

§ Thorough knowledge of:

  • Supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment, including job costing

  • Microsoft office basics

  • EAP Software Familiarize

§ Skill to:

o Able to use basic accounting principles in relation to inventory and cost

  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations

  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

  • Present information and respond to questions from management, customers and vendors

  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and to prepare analytical reports

  • Lead, mentor and coach
