Job Description:
Quality Inspectors conduct power and final customer tests to ensure cable meets customer specifications by product design prior to shipment.
We are hiring for our 2nd, 3rd and swing shifts.
Brief Summary of Primary Duties:
Regular and predictable attendance throughout the shift is an essential function of this position
Inspects/testscoated/uncoatedwire for conductorresistance, diameter, and length
Inspects for appropriate cable construction, print, reel size
Measurewire, insulation, and insulationshield to customer standards
Package cable per customer requests
Communicate with departmentsaboutqualityconcerns
Expectations:
Abide by all rules and procedures
Treatallemployees with respect
Maintainclean work area
Make safety first priority and reports allincidents or issuesimmediately
Sustain a shop floorenvironment withoperatorshelpingeachother
Any/All tasks that are assigned by shift supervisor
Specific Skills/Training Required
On shop floor computer training includingbutnot limited to Maximo, SAP
Ability to use hand/power tools, cable cutters and utility knifes to prepare cable ends for testing
Ability to learn to use and troubleshootelectronic, measuring equipment for conductorresistancemeasurement
Ability to successfully complete a Core skills training includingbutnot limited to Basic ElectricalPrinciples and Safety, Basic Cable Construction
Mathematical skills includingunderstandingdecimals, percentages, multiplying, addition, and subtraction
Ability to read and follow SOP’s, TI’s, CDA’s, FOD’s, QUA’s, DOD’s, industryspecifications, and customer specificationsasresourcedocuments

Experience:
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:
Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas
Hearing Protection required in posted areas
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to stand 8-12 hours on concrete floors
Cut resistant gloves required when using utility knives
Ability to move reels weighing 500-20,000 lbs. with assistance or reel movers
Ability to stand 8 hours on concrete floor
Ability to bend/stoop to floor level up to 50 times per 8-hour shift
