Shift - M to F 7am to 330pm GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION CMM programmer 2 uses precision measurement tools to create inspection programs for coordinate-measuring machines. This role observes, creates, and reports, using custom-written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, and quality. In addition to performing calibration and maintenance they will also use calipers and micrometers to ensure product meet specifications and may be cross trained on other inspection processes. REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years recent experience CMM programming HS Diploma required, AA and technical CMM training preferred in DMIS and SPC Must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Ability to read, write and understand directions in English. Vision required in the job includes close vision and reading a computer screen and digital tools. 20/20 corrected. Familiarity with GD&T symbols and ability to read blueprints Intermediate math skills Eligible to work in an ITAR environment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operates precision, programmable, automated inspection platforms daily. Follows and maintains technique cards or other process documents which clearly detail set up and operating process for users. May write new process instructions. Writes new programs, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance frames from blueprints. This data is translated into inspection program output to ensure manufactured products meet internal engineering and customer dimensional specifications. May modify or troubleshoot existing programs. Tracks, updates, and stores multiple programs to inspect multiple parts at a time. Measures parts on fixture plate as needed for production. May be crossed trained on other inspection methods including non-destructive testing or visual inspection as needed for the department.
