\ \ Director of Human Resources\ \ Department: 3670001110 K-State Athletics Inc (Agcy)\ Job no: 517184\ Employment type: Athletics\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: On-site requirement\ Categories: Administrative / Professional, Executive / Director / Management, Human Resources, Athletics\ Pay Grade: 001\ \ \ About This Role:\ K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.\ \ An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:

  • Research, recommend, implement, and manage KSA local agency human resource programs and oversee/manage human resources office; must be knowledgeable of both Kansas State University and K-State Athletics (KSA) benefits, as well as federal, and state employment, time and leave, and payroll policy/regulations to maintain proper benefits, employment process, payroll/time and leave, etc.
  • Prepare numerous Excel reports for annual audits, payroll, workman\'s compensation, etc.
  • Assist senior staff, supervisors and employees with human resource issues and questions.
  • Liaison with KSU Human Resources regarding search and hire processing/issues using PeopleSoft and PageUp systems; determine and submit payroll/adjustments; assist search committee chairs with conducting proper candidate reviews and selection for interviews, offers, and background checks.
  • Liaison with KSU Budget Office. Update annual salary budget and prepare/process annual employee term appointments.
  • Liaison with benefit companies for health insurance benefits, flex spending account (FSA), retirement plans, workman\'s compensation, term life/AD&D/LTD coverage, and AFLAC; acquire bids for benefit services when needed to continually provide quality benefits at the best possible cost.
  • Conduct annual health insurance open enrollment for eligible employees; assist current and prospective employees and their families with benefit enrollment, changes, questions and issues; balance and approve monthly benefit invoices for payment.
  • Manage FMLA and workman\'s compensation injury claims.
  • Manage retiree health insurance program, including invoicing and maintaining contact with retirees to ensure premium payments are received.
  • Supervise two full-time employees and ensure friendly customer service is provided to meet the needs of a diverse KSA workforce.

Bachelor\'s Degree in human resources or related field at time of application;

Five (5) years of full-time experience in human resources managing benefits administration, time and leave/payroll, unemployment, FMLA, and workman\'s compensation;

Must have exemplary knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Wo
