This Position is for a Summer Program - General Labor 1st Shift- May to Sept with a company located in Forest.

 

Job Summuary: This position is responsible for general maintenance throughout the plant while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture. Receive training as required. Perform various positions as required/assigned.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: This position requires experience in maintenance in a rendering facility.  Must have obtained a minimum Level 7 Dupont computer- based training and hands on testing.  Must be willing and able to fill in for the Supervisor and provide instruction and direction to co-workers.  Must be able to use basic hand tools.  Requires: basic mechanical or maintenance skills, knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing, 1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance, able to read & understand assignments, able to communicate orally & in writing, able to hear/respond to two-way radio, able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, basic knowledge of math, able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment. May monitor boiler and perform chemical test on boiler. May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems. 

Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.  Performs duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems.

Prefer individual be respirator qualified. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.  Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training.
