**[General Job Requirements: Description The Preservation Society of Newport County seeks part-time Security Guards to work a combination of weekday and weekend hours, including holidays, primarily between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Hours will be flexible. SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Preservation Society Security Guard is a highly skilled, observant, and conscientious member of the Properties Department. Such employees must possess excellent communications skills, as they will be interacting with the public at the very onset of the visitor experience. The primary responsibility of the Security Guard is to provide for the safety and security of the House and outbuildings, grounds, parking areas, and crosswalks where applicable. Conducts a periodic walk through of the house, out buildings and estate grounds to check for Security and Safety Issues and reports all Safety hazards such as slip, trip, and fall hazards for appropriate response. Conduct emergency procedures which include the safe evacuations of all areas of guests and staff when required to do so. Secondary responsibilities will include enforcing Preservation Society policies, helping visitors with special needs to enter the house, and greeting group visitors and answering questions in the absence of greeters.

**[Education Requirements: The desirable candidate will possess the following qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Valid state-issued motor vehicle operators license. Ability to work with computers. Ability to handle written communication in reporting and filling out forms, incident and accident forms. Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Effective communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Flexibility to work other locations as needed. Physical Demands: Ability to consistently arrive at work on time and ready to begin duties. Possess a valid state-issued motor vehicle operators license with a clear record. Ability to stand for extended periods, usually 40-45 minutes per hour. Ability to walk quickly for extended distances under emergency circumstances. Ability to open and close large, heavy gates, sometimes weighing several tons. Ability to lift and carry signs and banners, sometimes weighing as much as thirty pounds. Ability to communicate with associates and guests. Ability to communicate effectively on a portable radio system. Preferred Qualifications: CPR, First Aid and AED certified training Previous Museum Security and Security/Safety Experience Previous CCTV Surveillance experience
