The shear/saw operator will set up and operate metal shears and saws and ensure all cut and sheared components meet and exceed the company's quality requirements 

This is a tiered position

Tier 1: $16.20 - $22.68

Tier 2: $18.36 - $21.06

Tier 3: $20.52 - $22.68

Tier 1 Position

The right candidate for our Level 1 position will have at least 1 year of experience as a machine operator, a basic understanding of blueprints, decimals, and fractions, and the ability to read a tape measure, rule, and combination square 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to maintain a safe, neat and orderly work area.  
  • Responsible for daily clean-up of area and equipment  
  • Responsible to check own work and compare with approved drawings, request first piece approvals as well as final inspection on parts produced  
  • Responsible for set up and operation of horizontal saw
  • Ability to work with different Alloy's, aluminum, steel, and stainless steel  
  • Responsible for keeping actuate Log of material usage of raw material  
  • Responsible for keeping actuate log of estimated run times versus actual run times
  • Must be able to read a ruler, square micrometer, or other measuring devices Ability to work with decimals and fractions.
  • Assist other departments and perform other related or non-related duties as assigned

*Level 1 Qualifications * 

  • 1+ Years of Experience  
  • Able to meet goals and objectives under direct supervision  
  • Basic Understanding of Blueprints and Processes

* Preferred Skills  *

  • Certified Expeditor
  • Must be able to read a tape measure  
  • High School diploma
  • Driver license  
  • Blueprint reading
  • Good Communication skills  
  • Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP)  
  • Good team mentality, ability to accept and apply feedback  
  • Strong math skills

     Detail oriented Working Conditions  

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions

  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials  
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Safety Glasses, Durable pants, and Steel Toe Shoes/Boots are required to be always worn. Hearing protection, safety gloves, high visibility vests, and other PPE to be provided on an as needed basis  
  • No loose clothing is permitted on the shop floor
  • Work involves considerable stooping, bending, walking, and standing  
  • The ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly  
  • The ability to lift and/or carry equipment/objects greater than 50lbs.  
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FLMA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or qualitative productivity standards
