Job Opening: Tax Auditor

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Auditor to join our team on a contract basis. This position offers a unique opportunity where you will be responsible for examining and analyzing tax returns to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws! Your primary goal will be to identify discrepancies, enforce tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and Analyze Tax Returns: Examine tax returns, financial statements, and other relevant documents to verify accuracy and completeness.

• Conduct Audits: Perform detailed audits on tax filings of individuals, businesses, and other entities to ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Identify Non-Compliance: Detect underreported income, unclaimed deductions, and other forms of non-compliance; investigate potential fraud or evasion activities.

• Prepare Reports: Document audit findings and prepare detailed reports; maintain accurate records of all audits conducted.

• Stay Updated on Tax Laws: Continuously update knowledge of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and effective auditing practices.

  Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA, CIA, or other relevant certifications preferred.

• Experience in tax auditing, audit reports, basic accounting, compliance or a related field.

• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

• Working knowledge of tax systems

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify discrepancies.

• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in audit findings

• Integrity and Ethics: High ethical standards and integrity, given the sensitive nature of financial information handled.
