Summary

As a Dev Infrastructure System Engineer, you will build and maintain the infrastructure hosting a software development environment which enables Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment of software . You will be responsible for the hardware, virtualization platform, storage, virtual machine deployment , and networking hosting the dev environment and tools. You will work with team members who will be focused on the DevOps tools and Infrastructure-as-Code elements.

Essential Functions

Work closely with software development and IT operations teams to understand their needs, making sure the development tools, system, and infrastructure are aligned to support business goals.

Perform Linux host administration as needed, RHEL and SLES systems. Leverage RPM to package and install software.

Perform Windows Domain and Active Directory administration as needed.

Perform basic network administration on virtual switches within the virtualization platform and various existing routers and switches (primarily Dell).

Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing among team members to maintain best practices and promote innovation.

Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure, identifying issues and opportunities to improve system performance, stability, and security.

Specific Required Skills

Deep and broad understanding of Infrastructure (Servers, Hypervisors (VMs), Containers, Networking, Firewalls, Storage) and ability to “jump in,” learn, and correct issues.

Experience with installation, administration, and configuration of RHEL and SLES Linux systems. Experience in troubleshooting security, backup, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring on these systems.

Experience with configuration management, managing packages, patches, and software configuration across multiple platforms.

Network switch administration, including VLAN, Trunking, and multicast. Network service knowledge and configuration / troubleshooting experience, across all common services and protocols.

Windows Domain and Active Directory administration experience.

Excellent communication skills: ability to tailor messaging and documentation based on the audience.

Required Education or Experience

5-10 years of experience .

Background and/or degree in Computer science or IT administration.

Current Security+ certification strongly desired. Linux+, Network+, and other related certifications are desired.

Eligibility Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
