Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1277000 and is part of the KY JFHQ, National Guard. NOTE: Current on-board applicants (AREA 1, Title 32 employees) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure. Responsibilities As a SECURITY SPECIALIST - TITLE 32, GS-0080-11, you will serve as the ARNG authority and expert on all matters involving protection functional elements and integration of enabling functional requirements, policy, procedures, program status. Serve as the conduit of information between the intelligence community and local state and federal law enforcement. Serve as consultant to the Chief of Staff and commanders on protection. Work with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Prepare Protection plans, templates and planning tools for units. Responsible for synchronizing daily operations, coordinate resource management requirements for the Protection Program functional elements of Antiterrorism, Intelligence Support to Antiterrorism, Emergency Management, Insider Threat, Law Enforcement, Mission Assurance, and Physical Security for the State ARNG. Receive, filter, focus, and fuse information from multiple sources to develop a clear understanding of threats to state forces. Plan, conduct, and coordinate security studies, projects, assessments, and surveys. Serve as member and chairperson for various boards and working groups as required. May supervise AGR, Title 32, Title 5, contractors, and/or state employees and perform related administrative duties. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: SPC - MAJ CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T5 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must not have any disciplinary action (Article 15 or Court-Martial) for engaging in an unprofessional or inappropriate relationship as defined in applicable DoD Instructions concerning Army and Air Force Professional and Unprofessional Relationships. Must attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of hire. Must obtain the Security Professional Certification(s) within 24 months of hire. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience in a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Ability to develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods. Experience in information, personnel, and physical security to effectively implement, integrate and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have least 36 months experience administering server-based networked systems, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and application monitoring required to provision, sustain, operate and integrate cyber networked systems and applications. Experience in research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security. Experienced in researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives, Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Air Force/Army Manuals, Air Force/Army Instructions, and local Operating Instructions. Experience managing, assessing and conducting Special Security Office self-inspections and able to present reports. Knowledge of sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures and security clearance processes. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
