*JOB SUMMARY* The IT Specialist is responsible for advising, implementing, and maintaining the electronic infrastructure of Kaleidoscope servers, laptops, workstations, phones, and security. Also oversees all related contractors with specialized skills as needed to complete internal IT projects. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide Staff Education & Support (40%)

  • Provide equipment and systems access to all new hires
  • Train end users on internal applications as needed
  • Field support calls/requests from users for application and equipment help
  • Respond to user and equipment emergencies
  • Stay current with IT equipment and security trends

2. Maintain Corporate IT & Communications Systems (30%)

  • Physically maintain all systems within Kaleidoscope, all locations
  • Proactively monitor servers
  • Develop workflows and documentation detailing business processes
  • Troubleshoot application errors
  • Create timelines for internal projects and manage schedule; communicate to all employees
  • Measure performance for implemented internal projects, ensuring results meet or exceed established goals

3. Serve as Corporate Expert Resource for IT & Communications Systems (30%)

  • Research and make recommendations as to appropriate hardware and software to achieve corporate goals current and projected
  • Work with department managers, Director, Operations, and COO to budget current and future IT requests
  • Stay current with IT equipment and security trends
  • Source qualified contractors/consultants for internal projects; ensure adherence to agreed-upon tasks and timelines

QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience

  • Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree or related field; Associates Degree plus significant experience considered
  • 1-2 years technical experience in a corporate or medical setting required; 5+ years experience desired

Licenses/Credentials/Certifications

  • Certifications in related system administration or technical specialties highly desired

Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities

Proven expertise with in anticipating needs and recommending proactive, preventive IT solutions

Experience working within a lab or similar setting overseeing multiple physical locations

Experienced in providing user phone support and over Microsoft Teams/Remote Control software

Ability to coach users of all types remotely, with patience and calm demeanor

Ability to create simple to complex documentation and instructions for end users

Expert knowledge of operating systems, including Microsoft server/user. Current operating systems include: Server 2016/2019 Standard, Windows 10 Professional

Basic knowledge of networking, including firewall configuration and VPN setup. Familiarity with Sonicwall based firewalls is highly desired

Basic knowledge of Voice of IP (VoIP) phone systems required

Advanced knowledge of CentOS/RHEL Linux based operating systems required

Advanced knowledge of Office 365 applications is required - must be able to coach/teach end users of features of Office applications

Basic knowledge of CAD/CAE, Industrial Design and Graphic Design applications is desired applications include but are not limited to: Autodesk Surface Studio, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suites, Adobe Acrobat. Related licensing and administering licenses desired

Knowledge of Dell servers, workstations, and mobile computers
