This is a senior level role responsible for managing all aspects of corporate financial planning and analysis, and stress testing under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer. This role partners with various business lines in maximizing profits, improving decision-making, and ultimately driving financial transparency across the organization. This role must have strong financial management skills, communication skills, and have a hands-on approach in order the manage the business from a finance perspective.

Responsibilities

Corporate financial planning, analysis, and decision support

  • Administer the annual budget and periodic financial forecasting processes including planning, implementing, and monitoring each.

  • Maintain the company’s budget, forecast, and profitability supporting models.

  • Support department and line of business leaders with the budget and forecasting application to include training, provision of access, and guidance in budgeting and forecasting.

  • Present to senior and executive management on budget preparation status and outcomes

  • Maintain long-term plan financial model. Update the model periodically to reflect changing business assumptions, revenue and expense trends, and accounting changes.

  • Maintain book and regulatory capital forecast.

  • Analyze impact of new capital issues, share repurchase, and changes in business strategy on bank and/or consolidated capital levels.

  • Develop financial models forecasting the impact to earnings and financial condition of new business proposals and changes to corporate strategic direction.

  • Implement and/or administer the company’s cost accounting function including funds transfer pricing, cost allocation methodologies and revenue center profitability.

  • Maintain and update profitability measurement system. Develop reports detailing relative profitability and other statistics for branches, business units, products, loan officers, and customers.

  • Calculate organizational, product, and customer profitability and offer solutions for continuous improvement in those areas.

  • Assist the Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team with integrating budget, forecast, and profitability amounts and related financial measures into periodic management reporting.

    Merger and Acquisition Analysis

  • Evaluate and validate external investment banker proposals and models.

  • Active participation in due diligence.

  • Develop and maintain acquisition valuation and pro forma models that project impact of target on future bank performance and capital.

  • Remain current on accepted business combinations accounting accepted practices and target valuation trends.

  • Create presentations detailing the impact, rationale, and other issues associated with a potential acquisition.

    Corporate Finance Department Administration

  • Monitor staff performance; prepares written performance evaluations; coaches, counsels, trains, develops, and motivates staff to ensure organization and effectiveness.

  • All employees are responsible for internal controls in the performance of their assigned duties. Internal Control responsibilities are established in various policies, procedures, and documents, including the Employee Handbook.

    Communications:Performs a variety of written and verbal communication tasks and projects to ensure satisfactory completion/implementation of work or projects.

  • Interfaces with key managers on financial questions and strategies.

  • Assists and educates managers on financial theory and analytical techniques.

  • Interfaces with key managers to report and disseminate financial results and management information.

  • Establishes and maintains effective rapport with all levels of employees, internal/external auditors, senior managers, executive management, and boards of directors when applicable.

  • Create clear and accurate presentations for executive management and the board of directors highlighting financial plans, results, and trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with other specific professional or technical certifications in related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Master of Business Administration, or related field and 10+ years’ work experience is required.

  • Strongly preferred certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Personnel management experience.

  • Financial institution experience.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
