Strongwater Farm is a Tewksbury, MA nonprofit organization that provides
life-changing equine-assisted services to individuals with mental,
physical, cognitive, and behavioral challenges. Strongwater is situated
on 12 acres of land leased from the Commonwealth. The property includes
a stable for thirteen horses, indoor program area, outdoor riding ring,
sensory trail, and numerous paddocks. The Facilities & Maintenance
Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of
all Strongwater property and facilities. Primary duties include the
oversight and delivery of maintenance and upkeep of the grounds,
offices, barn, riding area, pastures, and other areas on Strongwater\'s
campus. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is supervised by the
Director of Finance and works closely with the Barn & Equine Operations
Manager, vendors, contractors, and volunteers. This position is
part-time and offers a flexible work schedule based on seasonal needs.
General Responsibilities Adheres to all Strongwater policies,
procedures, and guidelines; maintain confidentiality of all participants
Represents Strongwater in a professional and courteous manner Supports
and advocates for the organization and its programs and partners
Maintains healthy relationships with the Strongwater community
including: participants,volunteers, vendors, staff, and the Board of
Directors Attends to administrative duties; attends required meetings
and staff training events Performs duties within Strongwater?s
operational budget and according to all administrative and safety
guidelines Demonstrates patience, respect for others, appropriate stress
management, and a desire to learn and grow In coordination with Director
of Volunteer Services, manages Volunteer Service teams working on
special projects relating to buildings/grounds Buildings Routinely
inspects building conditions; identify and address needs Performs and/or
coordinates all building maintenance and improvements identified by
staff Performs ongoing building repairs and maintenance Schedules major
building repairs in conjunction with the Director of Finance, Executive
Director, and Board Building and Maintenance Committee Keeps building
maintenance tools in good working order Grounds Maintains landscaping
(including care for grass, trees, shrubs, etc.) Oversees, coordinates,
and performs weed mitigation Maintains safe entryways (including snow
removal, ice dam prevention, etc.) Maintains pasture fences, shelters,
and gates in partnership with the Barn & Equine Operations Manager
Maintains and repairs/coordinated repair (as needed) all water
spigots/hydrants Assists in hay gathering, storage, and distribution in
conjunction with the Barn & Equine Operations Manager Keeps grounds and
maintenance tools in good working order Vehicles & Equipment Operates
small engine and farm equipment including: mower, tractor, gator
Maintains vehicle service records; performs and/or schedules regular
maintenance Performs simple repairs as needed Keeps vehicles, equipment,
and associated tools in good working order Minimum Qualifications

services Demonstrated experience with a variety of indoor and outdoor
maintenance tasks and associated tools/equipment Familiarity with
equipment and vehicles used on-site Basic understanding of common
plumbing and electrical issues Able to lift, carry, and transfer objects
routinely weighing 50 lbs or more Able to stand for long periods of
time, stoop, bend, crouch, and do repetitive hand motions Comfortable
working outdoors in a variety of conditions Trustworthy, courteous,
punctual, self-motivated, and flexible
