The Supervisor of the Distribution Operations specializes in leading a team who perform distribution operations duties involving cross-functional teams focused on delivery of the distribution program. Oversees the planning and controls the flow of materials, products, services and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to supply chain services, inventory control, or critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, third-party warehousing and shipping/receiving activities.  Organizes program activities, interdepartmental meetings and the high volume of transactions at the Atlanta warehouse and other hubs. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and supports the customer relationships regarding daily operations of project team

  • Identify customer pain points, perform gap analysis and recommend value add operational improvements and cost savings projects

  • Prepares reports and presents on daily operations, projects and risks

  • Prepares reports on overall team performance and supports QBR reviews

  • Oversees the daily operations, projects and performance of the distribution team to meet KPIs and OKRs as agreed to with the client

  • Maintain the relationship with the customer, vendors, customer 3PL and carrier base

  • Serve as the first point of escalation for customer queries/problems

  • Support operational continuity and risk management plans

  • Drive and execute assigned individually owned projects

  • Maintain and audit regional standard operating procedures and suggest areas for improvement, implement tools and support the communication of changes

  • Drive strategy with the team and continuously look at opportunities to improve the processes

  • Recommend and implement tools to allow the team to be predictive rather than reactive

  • Monitor and conduct operational audits for quality and identify areas of concern for corrective actions

  • Manage team’s performance ensuring the team hits all required metrics and customer service goals

  • Monitor productivity model to understand and record current workload and team capacity

  • Implement the necessary training, knowledge, and processes for team to perform their role

  • Support annual performance reviews and address employee performance problems

  • Continuously develop your individual knowledge of logistics trends, compliance, and general business acumen to benefit the customer and your personal career development

  • Collaborate with other supervisors to stay compliant and improve service delivery

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience

  • 5 + years experience in supply chain and logistics, specifically in distribution warehouse operations

  • 5+ years people management

  • Industry certifications such as Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, Supply Chain,  is preferred

  • Excellent customer service skills, including negotiation, proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results

  • Risk sensitive, recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise

  • Ability to develop, evaluate, recommend and present best options

  • Must be willing to occasionally work outside normal business hours, including weekends

  • Travel less than 10%.
