Duties and Responsibilities

55% - Federal Loan Management

  • Analyzeandrevisefederal loandata,identifyingandresolvingpending irregularitiespromptly.
  • Staya breast ofindustrydevelopmentsandchangesinloanprocessingsoftwareandproactivelyimplement necessary changes to optimize efficiency and accuracy in loan coordination processes.
  • Maintaincurrent knowledgeoffederal regulationsandfinancial aidprocessesandutilizethisexpertisetodrive process improvement and maintain compliance.
  • Identifypotentialover-awardsituationsandmakenecessary adjustmentstomaintain compliancewithfederal guidelines.
  • Generatedailyreportstoidentifyandcorrectloandiscrepanciestoensuremonthendreconciliation.
  • Monitorsession-basedloansandfacilitateclearcommunicationwithfacultyandstudentsthroughoutallstages of the loan life cycle.
  • Executeyear-end federalloancloseout procedurestoguaranteeaccuratereconciliationofloanaccounts, compliance with federal regulation and timely submission of reports to relevant authorities.
  • Provideloancounselingtostudentsandparentsregarding thefederalloanprocess.

30% - Private/Alternative Loan Processing

  • Overseeandassigntasks toappropriatestaffmember(s)during peakperiodstofacilitatetimelyprocessing.
  • Managethecertification,disbursementandrevisionofprivate/alternativeloans.
  • Analyzeandmonitorloandatatoidentifyissuesandresolve theminatimelymanner.
  • Produceandanalyzedaily reportstoidentify andcorrectloandiscrepanciestoensuremonth endreconciliation.
  • Conductpersonalizedcounselingtostudents andparentsonthirdparty private loans.
  • Exploreandimplementimprovementopportunitiesforongoing processesthroughthirdpartysystem.

10% - Team Collaboration and Process Improvement

  • ParticipateinthePSUStudentFinancial Planningimplementationteamtoidentify andimplementbestpractices aimed at enhancing functions for optimal efficiency.
  • CoordinatewithCashiers,Registrar,Admission,andAcademic Advisingofficesonstudentloanmatters.Educate and update as needed.
  • VerifytheaccuracyofloandataontheCommonOrigination&Disbursementwebsite,applycorrectionsas required.
  • Createreports usingOracleAnalytics.
  • Leadefforts tostreamlineandenhancetheefficiencyofstudentloanprocessingandfinancialaiddelivery.
  • Attendannua lfederalandstatetrainingopportunitiestostayup-to-dateoncurrentregulatoryissuesand changes.

5% - Default Management

  • Overseethemonitoringofstudentloandefaultmanagementprocessestomaintain compliancetofederal regulations and university policies.
  • Developandenforcepolicies andproceduresaimedatassessingandmitigatingdefault risksandpromoting responsible borrowing practices among students.
