Special Information
This position is a hybrid position which allows the incumbent to
complete their work at both the Flagstaff Mountain campus and at a
non-centralized site with or without accommodation.
Job Description
The Financial Oversight Analyst, Int is located within the Office of the
Provost and will report to the Financial Oversight Director for Academic
Affairs. This position oversees the financial processes of graduate
student funding including graduate assistantships, tuition waivers, and
Presidential fellowships. The position will help develop budgets,
evaluate financial data and performance, and provide recommendations for
student financial support. The Financial Oversight Analyst, Int
collaborates closely with multiple departments throughout the university
including academic units, the Office of Graduate and Professional
Studies (OGPS), the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA), Student
Accounts, the Comptroller\'s Office, Human Resources, and Campus Health
Services.
Awarding and Reconciliation - 70%
- Evaluate student eligibility for various awards.
- Compile financial aid data and collaborate with Office of Student
Financial Aid to disburse aid.
- Coordinate graduate assistantship and tuition waiver award processes
with academic units.
- Collaborate with OGPS to process Presidential Fellowship awards`.
- Reconcile awards with student account detail and student eligibility
requirements to troubleshoot and resolve issues with awarding
process.
- Assess awarding and reconciliation processes for areas of
improvement and propose potential solutions.
Budgeting and Reporting - 15%
- Develop tuition waiver budgets by college in collaboration with the
OGPS Dean and the Academic Affairs Financial Oversight Director.
- Budget, reconcile, and balance tuition and health waiver accounts;
calculate and oversee reimbursement process.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries.
Communication and Training - 10%
- Train graduate coordinators and students in awarding processes.
- Communicate important deadlines and other critical information with
key stakeholders.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to address student and department
questions.
Other - 5%
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or related
field.
- 2-4 years of accounting, clerical, or bookkeeping experience.
- A combination of related education, experience and training may be
used as an equivalent to the above minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accounting experience in higher education.
- Experience with NAU software including Enterprise Reporting,
Peoplesoft Financials, and Louie.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of financial oversight and operations tools,
procedures, processes, policies, and concepts, such as payroll
management systems and budget analysis projects, as well as such as
expense tracking, and trend analysis.
- Knowledge of financial reporting in higher ed cation and university
budgeting practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Skill in financial modeling.
