Purpose and Scope
This role's primary responsibilities include ongoing financial analysis and
monthly financial reporting, supporting product costing and improving
costing accuracy, actively participating in the annual budget process, and
supporting Tolmar's product development and business development activities.
This high-visibility, high-growth role will work as a member of a
cross-functional finance organization at Tolmar.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform data stewardship in support of the Operations and Quality business
units, including but not limited to:
Maintain and publish daily and weekly production dashboards reflecting
production units, production yields, earned standard hours and overhead
cost absorption.
Provide next-level intelligence by performing monthly data mining in critical
areas such as manufacturing scrap, excess and obsolete inventory, PPV,
MUV and other manufacturing variances.
Compile and publish weekly and monthly labor hour metrics, providing
department leaders with actionable data to manage and improve labor
utilization and labor productivity.
Compile and publish enriched data sets to provide department leaders with
detailed department spend (encompassing vendors, materials, headcount
and related payroll metrics).
Maintain master files used by Operations Finance for monthly cost performance
analysis, monthly department reviews, and monthly headcount and payroll
discussions.
Compile and publish monthly inventory balances used for analysis, internal
reporting, and monthly forecasting.
Participate in the annual budgeting cycle, leveraging monthly cost forecasts
to inform budget targets, identify one-time expenses, and communicate cost
savings opportunities.
Perform monthly margin analysis, disaggregating and reporting all aspects of
our Cost of Sales, to include
Performing monthly price-volume-mix analysis for sales and standard product
costs and margins;
Analyzing, understanding and communicating manufacturing variances,
including but not limited to material and labor variances, cost absorption
(over)/under, labor productivity, and PPV;
Analyzing, understanding and communicating product-level profitability;
Analyzing, understanding and communicating our variable manufacturing costs
and contribution margin performance;
Analyzing, understanding and communicating our fixed overhead costs to
inform our understanding of our operational leverage.
Partner with Supply Chain to identify slow-moving, excess and obsolete
stock, working to optimize our safety stock levels while minimizing
non-critical inventory items.
Perform ongoing costing analysis, partnering with Manufacturing to ensure
the accuracy of our BOMs, Routings and standard product costing.
Identify opportunities for automation and productivity gains.
Perform ad-hoc data mining as needed.
Perform ad-hoc financial and business case modeling as needed.
Become fluent in the T^3 process and culture, becoming part of the ongoing
transformation in Operations, Quality and Finance.
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Good working knowledge of standard accounting practices, financial concepts
and financial statements.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word,
PowerPoint.
Strong interest in developing and receiving training to improve these skills.
Knowledge of common financial evaluation tools (Return on Investment and Net
Present Value analysis).
Skill in effective oral and written communication.
Data driven; strong understanding of key business metrics that drive revenue
performance/growth.
Skill in the interpretation and manipulation of data to drive decision making
and make an impact on organizational strategy.
Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and provide
in-depth analysis and recommendations.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Ability to ork effectively with personnel in various levels of management
throughout the company including executive level personnel.
Ability to effectively prioritize action items and manage deadlines.
Ability to develop working relationships with both internal and external
customers.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any Engineering/Science
Discipline.
Five or more years of experience in a financial planning and analysis
organization and/or financial services (investment banking, investing, etc.).
Two years supporting a manufacturing organization, and use of standard
costing systems and bill of materials required.
Experience using Power BI, data warehousing and mining strongly preferred.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
