OhioMeansJobs is partnering with a local security company to find Security Officers/Guards. Summary:

  • Works directly with SACS Consulting Clients out in the field providing security services.
  • Security assignments with a high level of accountability
  • Armed and Unarmed assignments
  • Some (temporary) assignments offer a higher pay rate per hour. These are assigned only by our Director of Operations.
  • A shift premium of an additional .50 per hour is offered for night shifts that start after 5:00 pm.
  • Temp to hire employees (through a staffing agency) are not eligible for any higher pay rates on assignments until completion of the required 720 hours on their payroll.
  • Full time and part time hours available.
  • Employer is working on mileage or health insurance benefits at this time

Requirements / Training:

  • Employer will license employees through the State of Ohio/Homeland Security / PISGS / OPOTA for all security personnel and investigator personnel.
  • Temp to hire employees (through a staffing agency) are not eligible for OPOTA training until completion of the required 720 hours on their payroll.
  • Current FAB / CCW a plus.
  • On the job training provided and as needed.
  • Military / law enforcement or security and management experience a plus.
  • High school diploma required.
  • CPR/ First Aid / AED Certified a plus.
  • Current Driver's License with ability to legally drive.
  • Stun Gun training a plus.
  • Must have a clean criminal background with clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.
  • Must pass a drug screen. Must pass a background check with a clean record.
  • Leadership skills. Customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, see the big picture -- whole surroundings, de-escalate situations, act quickly.
  • Ability to write a detailed "incident report" and daily activity report with details as situations happen on assignment

Responsibilities: Security Officer / Guard will be responsible to provide security services that include but are not limited to: guard

  • people, business locations that may include entrances / exits / parking lots.
  • Security Officer / Guard also screen / wand people / event attendees and employees checking bags, purses etc.
  • Monitor clients' security /surveillance cameras. People watching and observing.
  • Parking lot monitoring. Walking and driving around assigned business /locations.
  • Protect clients' assets, employees and visitors. Surveillance and crowd control.
  • Be visible at all times inside/outside at client location to deter crime.
  • Unless asked to be discreet or not seen.
  • Organize a response in the case of fire, evacuation, or other emergencies. Respond to customer and employee
  • health emergencies and accidents.
  • Liaison with police and city emergency responders.
  • Remove unwanted customers or trespassers.
  • Must be able to stand and walk long periods of time.
  • Additional duties by assigned client and also Director of Operations.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and available evenings, weekends and holidays with after-hours availability as well.

DRESS / UNIFORM

  • Professional dress is business casual and also as determined by the specific assignment.
  • Professional dress with some events requiring more formal business attire. (Jacket, dresses, suit / tie.)
  • A company polo shirt, reflective vest, outdoor jacket, cap will be given for specific assignments.
  • A sport coat / jacket blazer /dress slacks, skirt may be required for specific assignments.
