How will you make an impact in this role?

This position is part of the American Express National Bank (AENB) Treasury team within the Global Treasury organization. The Manager will support managing AENB’s capital in accordance with regulatory and policy requirements. The Manager will play a key role in creating the annual capital plan, monthly planning scenarios, quarterly capital ratio analysis and reporting, stress testing exercises, and a wide range of other balance sheet/capital analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing the Bank’s capital strategy, including the annual capital planning process, ongoing quarterly capital adequacy assessments and capital distribution recommendations.

  • Support capital forecasting and stress testing activities including monthly forecast updates, macroeconomic stress testing and event stress testing.

  • Update and maintain capital documentation, including Capital Management Policy, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) framework, Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Assist in the preparation of materials relating to capital for presentation to senior leaders, the Capital Management Committee, the Asset/Liability Committee and AENB Board of Directors.

  • Support efforts to understand, document and size the impacts of new regulatory requirements, i.e., Category III/II transition, Basel III Endgame and Long-Term Debt.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the enterprise (e.g., Corporate Planning, Controllership, Global Risk and Compliance) to drive results, meaningful analytics, and insights.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Results oriented, with a track record of driving results across multiple initiatives.

  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.

  • Self-motivated, pro-active individual with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and time management.

  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written and through presentations. Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of capital management experience in a Bank Treasury environment.

  • Knowledge of regulatory capital and risk-weighted asset requirements.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
