Job Description

The Senior Manager, Content Marketing at Texas A&M AgriLife Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading the strategy and supervising a team dedicated to strategizing, creating and distributing compelling content across various digital platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of how communications and storytelling work in tandem with email communications, social media management, conversion rates and analytics. The Senior Manager Lead will play a key role in driving engagement, building brand awareness, earning conversions and supporting the overall communications and marketing strategy of Texas A&M AgriLife.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a data-driven team of communicators tasked with supporting and executing content marketing strategies that align with the department's goals and objectives.

  • Guide the marketing and communications strategies as they relate to social media, newsletters, paid media placements and digital marketing efforts including PPC campaigns, paid social media and SEO enhancements.

  • Oversee the creation of engaging and relevant content for external email communications, social media channels and other digital platforms.

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans working cross-functionally with various team members.

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to track the effectiveness of content marketing efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Manage the marketing budget ensuring all paid media strategies and needs for the department are stewarded across digital and traditional platforms.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that content is accurate, timely and consistent with the department's brand voice and messaging.

  • Develop trainings and written best practices to facilitate ongoing digital outreach across AgriLife to be within brand standards.

  • Steward and advocate for the Texas A&M AgriLife Editorial Style Guide and ensure consistency across digital channels.

  • Support crisis communications and issues management strategies through responsive communications and active listening.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content marketing, social media, and email communications to identify new opportunities for innovation and growth.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Seven years of experience in content marketing, communications, or related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree, preferred.

  • Strong understanding of utilizing GA4 for detailed analysis and reporting.

  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and web analytics tools.

  • Experience working in a higher education, agriculture or the life sciences is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members to achieve their full potential.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft compelling messaging for different audiences.
