Job Description:
Perkins Coie is seeking a qualified, dynamic individual to take on the role of the Investment Officer (IO) supporting the Investment team (the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Senior Investment Officers (SIOs) of Perkins Coie Trust Company) in all aspects of investment management and compliance including trade execution, investment research and analysis, performance measurement, investment compliance and client reporting. The IO also has client management/relationship responsibilities to provide the highest level of client service. The expectation is for all employees to adhere to the Perkins Coie Trust Company Code of Ethics and Compliance Policy Manual.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.
Research & Analysis
Assist SIOs in research of market conditions, specific investments, and portfolio strategies
Advise team of price alerts, corporate actions, and changes in security ratings where applicable
Assist in managing fixed-income portfolios
Assist with proprietary quantitative analysis on defined universe of equity and fixed-income securities
Support screening and selection of mutual funds for use in client accounts and retirement plan models
Source, review, exercise due diligence on, and execute new investments in the asset class
Assist in monitoring recommended mutual fund performance and maintain internal retirement model website
Make effective use of research and analytical tools including Bloomberg, Morningstar, PSN, FIS trading systems and reporting
Provide support preparing for client portfolio review meetings and ongoing portfolio management
Maintain research files on all investments in accordance with procedure
Vote proxies and maintain records in compliance with proxy policy
Prepare data for presentations to oversight committees and boards
Client Relationship Management
Provide the highest and best service level to our clients, colleagues, partners, and stakeholders by going above and beyond to provide at least the same level of service as our Perkins Coie LLP colleagues and upholding the reputation of the Firm by delivering on our commitments
Manage a book of client relationships with a focus on client retention, which includes, but is not limited to, preparing materials and participating in client review meetings, as the lead or as support
Client portfolio management-monitoring and trading accounts, as needed; updating account information (Investment Policy Statements, restricted securities, cash reserves, etc.)
Reporting
Serve as Secretary to Investment Policy Committee
Assist the SIO in coordinating performance reporting with third-party vendor
Maintain asset, asset classification, and other account parameters to ensure quality of performance reporting
Deliver reports to clients quarterly
Maintain performance composites with input from Investment team
Ensure compliance with performance reporting standards and composite reporting policy
Maintain appropriate documentation for regulatory compliance in accordance with retention policy
Trade Placement
Place trades as directed, ensuring compliance with trading and best execution policy
Maintain highest data integrity in trade systems (FIS) and effectively communicate with the Operations and Investment Teams
Maintain trade documentation in accordance with procedure and retention policy
Maintain investment models on InvestorsView in support of periodic portfolio rebalancing
Develop and maintain quality business relationships with brokers and maintain due diligence files
