Responsibilities: The Program Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating activities associated with a specific complex program or group of complex programs in a specialty/functional area including scheduling, coordination of communication, data management, document preparation, and process improvement. Works in collaboration with the Program Manager and other program staff as well as other stakeholders to help to implement the program's objectives in support of identified goals and the continuous improvement process. Responsible for ensuring effective communication among stakeholders and program staff. May manage data on the program's effectiveness. Responsible for facilitating the deployment of the program's strategy including implementing a variety of solutions that optimize the program's effectiveness. Coordinates the process of executing initiatives essential for the success of the program. SERIES CONCEPT: A program is a specialized area with specific complex components and discrete tasks which distinguish it from the main body of the organization. There is a defined plan to accomplish a particular objective with elements and scope that distinguish it from the usual scope and responsibilities of a department or functional area. The specialized tasks involve interpretation of policies, procedures and regulations, independent functioning and public contact. A program typically has a long-term focus with an expectation that the plan/program will serve or impact on-going needs or goals. The primary responsibilities and accountabilities are typically transferable from one program to another. The performance of administrative tasks are in support of the individual's performance specific to the program. Job Posting Addendum: Seattle Children's Science Education Department is seeking a collaborative, organized and responsive person for a Program Coordinator II role. In this role, you will coordinate the student training experience at Seattle Children's Research Institute and provide administrative support for department programs including K-12 programs, summer internships for high school and undergraduate students, and the Invent@SC postdoctoral scholars program. We provide exceptional service and support to students, teachers, and trainees at all levels, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Prior experience working in a research institute/life sciences environment and supporting trainees and/or education initiatives is preferred. The ideal candidate will share the team's passion for inspiring and training the next generation of leaders in science and medicine. Please note: a cover letter is preferred. Requirements: Required Education/Experience: Two (2) years college coursework in Business, Healthcare, Human Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years program coordination support experience; including at least 1 year of experience organizing multiple projects through to completion. Successful track record convening and facilitating dialogue with multiple and diverse stakeholders. Experience with: drafting, editing and developing communications and/or reports; data analysis and data entry. Required Credentials: N/A. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Marketing, Human Services or related field. Experience working in public health, health care or social services. Experience working on continuous process improvement projects and understanding of lean methodology.
