Job Description Responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of financial statements for internal and external use in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and SEC regulations. This position assists with researching and communicating generally accepted accounting principles and SEC regulations to senior management. Responsible for technical accounting in the preparation of financial and statistical reports to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Washington Commission. This position also works with external auditors to ensure financial statement presentation compliance. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. Responsible for consolidation of financial statements for internal and external use is accordance with FASB and SEC standards. Also responsible for ensuring financial reporting package iscomplete and accurate. Reviews parked journal entries, as well as journal entry review and recurring entry processes performed by accountants. Responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting to the SEC. Responsible for research of generally accepted accounting principles and SEC regulations. Manages requests received from management and other departments and represent the department at company meetings. Monitors internal controls and actively update and test SOX 404 procedures Responsible for analysis of reporting periods. Oversees special projects/research within the department. Works with external auditors to ensure quarterly and year-end financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP and SEC standards. Assists with quarterly and year-end audit review by external audit staff. Provides performance appraisals to staff; promote training and development of staff. Manages the department budget. Keeps abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in the profession. Makes recommendations for implem
