Minimum Criteria:

• Hold a valid NYS counseling certificate in tenure area;

• Preference given to a licensed Mental Health Counselor under NYS guidelines permitting Medicaid reimbursement;

• Possess a thorough knowledge in field;

• Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and good judgment;

• Demonstrate the ability to plan and organize for effective teaching and learning;

• Understand the nature and needs of the age group served;

• Able to develop and maintain productive human relationships;

• Previous experience in working with high school-age children is desirable;

• Demonstrate knowledge in the areas of counseling theories and techniques, intervention strategies, crisis management and behavioral assessment.
