Job Opening: Computer Application Specialist 2023/24

There is an immediate opening for Computer Application Specialist in the Information Technology Department of the East Irondequoit Central School District.

This position is 12-months and would report to the Executive Director of Technology.

Duties are but not limited the following:

• Tests, checks, corrects and maintains all software/applications used by the district.

• Acts as a subject matter expert for assigned instructional and business applications.

• Troubleshoot instructional/business software applications and interface with vendors as needed to resolve issues.

• Provides end-user software support. Experience in Microsoft O365 products (online and client versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and OneNote), O365 SharePoint and Infinite Campus a plus.

• Conducts in-house training sessions and/or written documentation in the use of business and instructional software as needed. Maintains online O365 SharePoint IT help library within Teams.

Job Qualifications

Must be on the current Civil Service Computer Application Specialist list or elidgible for the title

• Good knowledge of the logical working of a micro-computer (desktop or mobile) and its operating capacities;

• Good knowledge of educational related software;

• Ability to develop accurate and effective computer database applications as needed;

• Ability to train others in proper operational procedures;

• Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships;

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with an innate ability to figure out whether an issue is a technical issue or a training issue.

  Windows and iOS experience, e xcellent communication skills, willingness to continuously learn about new technologies, accuracy and good judgement are a plus.
