Purpose:

Provides strategic leadership, direction and administration in all aspects of the Cancer Services service line. Has direct responsibility for service line growth and innovation, including the development of new programs and technology. Responsible for high quality outcomes, revenue generation, cost containment, and analytical evaluation of service line performance. Sets the vision and formulates long term strategies to ensure the mission, vision and goals are achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate the organization's mission, philosophy and values into an understandable plan for the delivery of patient care. Oversee the delivery of patient care, patient and family experience, and quality outcomes using evidence-based practice.

  • Assume profit and loss responsibility for the service line; identify revenue-producing and cost containment opportunities. Maintain, analyze and act upon financial information related to the service line.

  • Develop and manage the strategic plan, business development and financial objectives for the service line. Predict future capital and operational resource needs.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of policies and procedures, accreditation agency requirements and federal, state or local laws and regulations of all departments. Execute provider and vendor contracts as needed.

  • Solicit physician input and act as a central liaison to medical staff for units serviced. Communicate with physicians in a timely manner.

  • Initiate sound conceptual ideas using demonstrable data. Provide practical application of solutions to problems, implement performance improvement processes, measures and reports and respond to outcome data, capitalizing on areas of opportunity.

  • Ensure top quality leadership of the service line. Provide leadership to subordinates while fostering development by allowing the authority, accountability and responsibility required to effectively perform his/her job. Provide a work environment that promotes growth, teamwork and self-actualization.

  • Implement innovation in technology, including state of the art medical equipment, techniques and services. Optimize use of information technology products and the integration of those products.

  • Develop initiatives to strengthen and grow service opportunities for the service line and promote services to potential referral sources.

  • Break down silos within the service line and between other service lines. Facilitate communication within teams to ensure quality, safety and patient experience across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health administration, business administration or related field required.

  • Five years of progressive management experience in healthcare operational service and nursing (clinical, operation and management) experience required. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Registered Nurse licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania RequiredCertification in Nursing Administration Preferred

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
