COIC is looking for a passionate individual who is an administrative
Rockstar and enjoys supporting at-risk youth navigating the educational
and justice system. What you would be doing: \' Collaborate \' Work with
local and regional educational institutions to ensure that the clients
we serve have a fair shot of continuing their education even while those
individuals face strong obstacles to educational success. \' Register \'
Enroll new students and request academic records; withdraw exiting
students and send records to their next school; report on various
academic metrics including but not limited to attendance, testing and
credits earned. \' Support -- Work with teachers, community justice
officers and youth helping them find pathways for success in education.
The impact you will have on the Community: \' H lp break the cycles
associated with the lack of a high school education. \' Strengthen and
promote continuing education for young people who otherwise may not have
an advocate. This is an hourly position at \$21.46 to \$37.64/hourly,
DOE and Qualifications. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for
working with barrier-challenged youth and families with a background in
education or public administration. Public education registration,
record keeping and/or administration experience a plus. Come join the

Central Oregon! Summary of Duties: This position supports COIC\'s
Education Program including and specifically the Juvenile Detention
Education Program (JDEP), and the Bend and La Pine COIC Schools, as a
registrar for all three programs and a reentry specialist for JDEP. The
reentry specialist portion of this job supports the collaboration
between the COIC\'s JDEP, County Juvenile Detention programming served
by Deschutes County Juvenile Services (e.g., Deschutes, Crook,
Jefferson), and school districts/workforce programs in the provision of
transition services to school and/or work for justice-involved youth.
The registration duties focus on ensuring students are enrolled and
exited promptly; students\' attendance and academic progress are
accurately recorded; and coordinating with district and community
justice partners as appropriate. Essential Qualifications, Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities: REQUIRED: \' Associate degree in a related field
such as Criminal Justice, Education, Business or Public Administration,
Psychology, or Human or Social Services and 2 years of relevant work
experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a
related field may be substituted. PREFERRED: \' Direct experience
working within public education including and specifically understanding
high school graduation requirements preferred. \' Experience working
with at-risk teens especially those facing various barriers in education
preferred. \' Experience developing and maintaining strategic,
collaborative relationships preferably within public education and with
local, regional, state, and federal public agencies. \' Experience with
case management preferred, especially with youth. \' Ability to
positively interact and develop relationships with a diverse range of
community partners.
