POSITION SUMMARY The Brake Press Operator reads and follows detailed blueprints and schematics to bend sheets of metal. This position requires the lifting of metal sheets into machines to shear and bend to make bodies, hose bed covers, and other parts, as necessary. They must also ensure that the bend meets angle grade and other specifications of the build. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS All employees are required to support Rosenbauer s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. Lifts metal sheets into machines to make bodies, hose bed covers, and other parts, as necessary. Reads and understands body prints, paper, and CAD. Ensures that bend meets angle grade and other specifications of the build. Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, timesaver, shears, and drill presses. Loads completed work in opposite order of specifications for the next department in a dedicated cart to be moved. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the company and our members. Tools to be utilized: Hand tools, power tools, cut off wheels, tape measure, brake press machine, and shear.
