The ideal candidate for the Assistant Human Resources Manager position will have experience in all areas of the Human Resources function. The position responsibilities include payroll, colleague relations, recruitment and retention, colleague onboarding and orientation, safety and training/development, union reporting. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources. This person must have the ability to run a human resource office in the Director's absence. The Human Resources function prides itself on excellence, service, integrity and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • 2 or more years of human resource or management experience preferred

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Proficient in computer systems including HR information systems, Microsoft Windows and Office, and Internet based platforms

  • Ability to create unique presentations and communication tools

  • General knowledge of employment law

  • Heightened sense of urgency

  • Minimal supervision

  • Ability to take initiative and follow through

  • Friendly and helpful spirit
